March Recap

Just realized it's April and I didn't offer a March recap. Soooooo about that whole I'm taking a dating break....soooo something happened back in February. I did meet someone on an app and we were getting along very well - The Viking (hence because of his tatted sleeves, glorious beard and long hair). Didn't have any dates planned. But then the end of February happened and I deleted all the apps and said "it's quitting time y'all!"

But I'm not a jerk and didn't want The Viking to think I unmatched him, so I let him know - since we were talking everyday for about 2 weeks - that I deleted the app. Naturally, he asked why, did I meet someone? I said, no quite the opposite, I'm taking a break from dating, it's been a nightmare. He asked if we could still talk and at least maintain a friendship since we were getting along so well. I agreed because he was a nice guy and I enjoyed talking with him.

So then March happened, a minor surgery, some quarantine to prep for my surgery. Daily convos continued. Our friendship grew. But we hadn't made any plans to hang out. So finally after my surgery, and a month of talking daily - as friends- we agreed to meet. But we went into our first meeting knowing that there may not be any romantic sparks and that if anything, we are totally cool as friends.

And then a funny thing happened. We met. We got along in person as well as we did talking and texting. And we had some chemistry. We've since hung out a few times and have been continuing to see where this goes, still talking daily, still agreeing we have made a friend but bonus, we both agreed we have some sparks, maybe a little more than just some. We are moving slowly, no commitment and seeing what happens.

And of course, my life would not be my life unless the universe messed with me somehow and threw in some drama. Sure enough, within the last few days, I've had four men from my past pop up out of the blue. As I told one of my besties about it, he said, this is either the universe challenging you or telling you to focus on The Viking, to which I replied, I think both.

So we shall see how this goes. I'm taking my time. Not rushing into anything. And just focusing on living in the moment and seeing where this road takes me.
